Hello everyone, it has been a long time

The "cosplay season" is open again in Belgium, and since the last time I have completed two costumes.

~ One of them was Calliste, from Memento Mori, comic book by . It took me ages to complete between my fulltime work and the massive amount of details. every bit of the costume has some specific work on it, for example the shoes were full of tiny details

I did wear the costume for Made in Asia 4, and had quite good feedback about it, so I am very happy.
I used wild silk for the corset and the sleeves, and duchess satin for the skirt, although duchess satin was probably a bad choice as it made the skirt a little bit too heavy. I would recommend taffetas for anyone attempting this dress. The embroidery was hand made with golden thread.

~ The second is Lydia Deetz from the Beetlejuice movie (wedding dress). It was a pretty easy dress to make, the pattern was quickly done.
I used 72 meters of fine tulle (25cm wide) for the skirt ruffles, 4m/1.20m of red taffetas for the basis of the dress (skirt and top, but the fabric doesn't really matter as such as it never shows in the end, so I went for the cheapest good quality fabric). And 2m/1.20m of embroidered lace to cover the bodice and to make some ruffles.
Now, there is a "mistake" on my dress: Lydia is supposed to be wearing red dot lace. But none of my fabric shops could order the red dot lace on time (apparently it's easier to find white/black polka dots lace), so I went for some red rose lace instead. The mistake is noticeable, at least to people who know the outfit. But I didn't think it would be too shocking as I am not planning to enter the dress in any contest but I will just wear it for my own pleasure if I ever plan to enter it in a contest, I'll sew in the dot lace!

So i'll wear the costume tomorrow for the BIFFF <3 hopefully I'll make some pretty pics!

And after this weekend, I will be working on my Japan Expo costumes, I am doing a group with and Deida, and another one with and Charlotte, Tamira & others. As for the solo costumes, I will more likely be wearing Daenerys Targaryen's 2nd season costume and another of Calliste's costumes
